Aerial Ortho-Photogrammetry Surveys

Aerial ortho-photogrammetry surveys capture high-resolution imagery of the tops of surface features such as trees, crops, buildings, and infrastructure.

This data is used to create a Digital Surface Model (DSM) and an orthomosaic. On sites not covered by dense vegetation, such as quarries, coal stockpiles, roads, or railways, ortho-photogrammetry can be carried out independently to map visible surface features.

On sites with vegetation, it is often combined with a Aerial LiDAR survey, which produces a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) of the bare-earth surface, allowing both the underlying terrain and above-ground features to be captured.

Surveys are carried out using the DJI M400 UAV equipped with a DJI P1 HD camera, with ground control points installed before each survey to ensure the 3D data is fully georeferenced.
